Manufacturing Supervisor – 1st Shift (Horsham, PA)

 

OVERVIEW

Veeco’s Precision Surface Processing (PSP) division is producing advanced wet process tools used in next-generation semiconductor manufacturing, enabling technologies from AI acceleration to advanced packaging. As our 1st Shift Manufacturing Supervisor, you will lead a skilled team building high-complexity systems under aggressive timelines in a clean, precision-focused production environment. This role is pivotal for ensuring operational excellence, hitting critical delivery schedules, and building the organizational capability that supports Veeco’s growth trajectory. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and coach a team of manufacturing technicians, ensuring builds meet quality, delivery, and safety standards.
  • Translate build roadmaps and work orders into actionable priorities; make real-time decisions to keep production on track for customer needs.
  • Balance line workflow and adjust resource assignments to optimize throughput.
  • Monitor high-priority parts and assemblies through build stages to ensure on-time readiness.
  • Maintain ISO-compliant processes and enforce preventive maintenance, training, and calibration policies.
  • Partner with Lean Practitioners to execute continuous improvement initiatives (including 5S and Six Sigma).
  • Communicate production metrics through verbal and written reports; lead GEMBA walks for visibility on shop-floor performance.
  • Manage material transactions in SAP; assist in part flow and inventory integrity.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and technical excellence on the shop floor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience plus 2 years in a supervisory capacity (ISO-regulated environment preferred).
  • Experience in high-precision product assembly; semiconductor or vacuum equipment background highly desirable.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proven leadership skills: ability to motivate teams, prioritize effectively, and deliver results against operational goals.
  • Strong technical literacy: able to interpret schematics, BOMs, routing documents, and mechanical drawings.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred; MRP familiarity required.
  • Skilled communicator with judgment to balance quality, cost, and delivery in complex decisions.
  • Comfortable in cleanroom environments; knowledge of semiconductor equipment assembly preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift 30 lbs; regular on-site presence required.


Salary and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $72,290—$106,024, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
