Overview:

Veeco is looking for a hands-on Supervisor for our Horsham, PA team for 2nd shift. The Supervisor, Manufacturing, will establish a high-quality continuous improvement culture, focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost and relentless problem-solving. As a Supervisor, you will manage multiple complex priorities while leading the team that manufactures our PE tools and its sub-assemblies.  

 

**2nd shift is from 3:30pm to 12:00am**

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coach a diverse team.
  • Assist technicians in every step of the tool build process.
  • Understand the priorities using the build roadmap and be an active leader in ensuring the priorities are completed.
  • Adjust priorities to meet key customer requirements.
  • Balance the production line as needed to meet daily workflow.
  • Follow high priority material through the production process to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain a high level of ISO compliance.
  • Provide written and verbal reports on production metrics and lead GEMBA walks as needed.
  • Ensure that all preventative maintenance, training, and calibrations are up-to-date.
  • Work with Lean Practitioners to implement Lean Six Sigma techniques.
  • Ensure all shop supplies, such as consumables and packing materials, are available and organized.
  • Assist with part movements and coordination of returns to stock/inventory.
  • Help maintain and enhance 5S workspace systems.
  • Process material transactions within the SAP environment.

 

Qualifications:

High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Two years of experience supervising people in an ISO or FDA regulated manufacturing environment is preferred as is experience with manufacturing high precision products in a vacuum environment.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Motivated to achieve self and team goals while ensuring that goals represent business objectives.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret highly technical documents (e.g., schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, routings, operating, maintenance, and job safety instructions/procedures) provided in verbal, written, or pictorial form.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and Bills of Materials.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills including the ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Semiconductor equipment, inspection, and clean room experience highly desirable.
  • Experience with an MRP system. SAP experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.

The expected salary range for this position is $67,856 – $85,952, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
