OVERVIEW

Veeco’s Precision Surface Processing (PSP) division designs and manufactures advanced wet process systems that enable next-generation semiconductor computing, AI acceleration, and power devices. As a Senior Material Handler, you’ll handle critical materials for these complex tools in a logistics environment where precision and timing drive shipment and build success. This role offers the opportunity to act as a key point for escalations, accuracy checks, and inventory integrity across PSP operations—keeping Veeco’s global commitments on schedule during an unprecedented industry growth cycle.

 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute and verify daily SAP transactions for all material movements—ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance with documented procedures.
  • Pick, stage, and ship material for production, service, and global customer deliveries with zero shipping defects.
  • Receive inbound vendor material, returns, and special components; manage discrepancy resolution promptly.
  • Ensure priority parts and kits move to the right stations or partner sites on schedule to prevent build delays.
  • Maintain warehouse readiness through 5S practices, clean storage environments, and safety-first standards.
  • Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) and perform light sub-assembly when required.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits—identify and correct root causes of inventory accuracy issues.
  • Serve as a resource and trainer for less experienced handlers during complex staging, SAP transactions, or priority rush orders.
  • Support safe transportation and documentation compliance for domestic and international shipments.
  • Flex to other operational roles when needed to meet workload demands.
 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma required; technical or logistics coursework preferred.
  • Minumum 4 years of related experience in inventory control, warehouse, or material handling roles required.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP system strongly preferred.
 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Skilled in interpreting pick lists, BOMs, and documentation associated with custom high-value equipment.
  • Independent, detail-oriented approach to processing transactions and resolving discrepancies.
  • Proven competence in safe forklift and material handling practices; certifications a plus.
  • Strong organizational habits to meet demanding timelines for multiple production and shipping schedules.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 25 lbs; availability for overtime as required.


Salary and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $41,273—$60,533, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
