OVERVIEW
Veeco’s Precision Surface Processing (PSP) business is accelerating production of next-generation wet etch and clean systems for semiconductor leaders advancing AI and advanced packaging. As a Senior Manufacturing Technician on our 2nd shift team, you will assemble and integrate complex capital equipment critical for enabling performance and precision at the heart of advanced wafer technologies. Your craftsmanship directly supports Veeco’s ability to deliver quality tools on schedule to customers worldwide—helping us win in a high-growth market.
2nd Shift Schedule is 3:30pm - 12:00am
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble semiconductor processing tools from base frame through complete mechanical integration to meet tight performance and delivery standards.
- Execute installation of precision mechanical systems, electrical wiring, and fluid delivery assemblies per engineering documentation.
- Troubleshoot integration issues in real time, from fit and wiring challenges to plumbing anomalies, ensuring production flow.
- Identify and escalate design or documentation gaps, contributing to continuous product and process improvement.
- Complete accurate build documentation for traceability and quality reviews.
- Occasionally lead subassemblies or mentor technicians during complex build stages.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to accomplish aggressive build schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school strongly preferred.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience assembling complex manufacturing or capital equipment systems.
- Availability for 2nd shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM) and overtime as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in installation of stainless steel tubing, Swagelok, and Teflon fittings from schematics.
- Able to interpret and execute from engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Skilled in precision mechanical assembly, wiring, and fault isolation.
- Comfortable with standard hand tools and basic metalworking (drilling, tapping).
- Familiar with MS Office and CAD tools; willing to learn manufacturing systems.
- Strong documentation habits and ability to sustain quality under minimal supervision.
Salary and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $49,692—$72,881, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
