Overview:

Veeco’s Horsham, PA, location is looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on, results-driven Master Planner with proven communication skills and a strong work ethic to work in a fast-paced, and energetic environment. The Master Planner will execute focused supply chain solutions that support business objectives, inventory management, and new product development. The Master Planner will be responsible for planning activities that include capital equipment, spares, and upgrades with a direct link to the higher-level Assembly Schedule to maximize on-time delivery to the customer. This position will partner with Procurement, Logistics, Project Engineering, Manufacturing, and other groups to develop a production plan, inventory strategies, and tactics to manage inventory and support process improvements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead capital equipment, spares, and upgrades planning in conjunction with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time shipments are maintained at the committed targets.
  • Conduct material analysis on availability, shortages, and effects on inventory in conjunction with material planners and buyers.
  • Partner with Engineering to conduct BOM release validation and ensure timely releases.  
  • Work closely with PLM on forecasts to assess capacity, material planning & resource requirements.
  • Lead capacity planning with operations leaders.
  • Actively participate in new tool kick-offs and feature developments to understand requirements to communicate to the different channels.
  • Work closely with materials team on inventory controls.
  • Lead WIP audit.
  • Foresee and escalate potential scheduling interruptions or constraints (resources, capacity, component shortages) to the management team as well as the manufacturing team to lessen or avoid the impact on the production schedule.
  • Proactively communicate on component/sub-assembly availability and commitments to Customer Service Orders as well as manufacturing to minimize potential backorders.
  • Manage inter-company Purchase Orders.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of related experience or a Master’s degree with 8 years of experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. APICS Certification and knowledge of SAP a plus as is experience working with high-tech capital equipment or in a regulated environment.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of MRP and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards related to End-to-End Supply Chain concepts.
  • Experience in scheduling manufacturing and production control techniques.
  • Experience with ERP systems and planning software – SAP a plus.
  • Strong communication, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound leadership qualities and demonstrated good judgment.
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office experience required.
  • Understanding ISO-9000, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Juran is highly desirable.

The expected salary range for this position is $113,000 - $143,000 + bonus + benefits. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
