OVERVIEW

Veeco’s Precision Surface Processing (PSP) division is growing to meet accelerating demand for wet etch and clean systems powering next-generation semiconductor devices and high-performance applications, including AI and advanced packaging. As a Manufacturing Technician on our 2nd shift team, you’ll assemble complex, high-precision tools that play a critical role in shaping the future of microelectronics. This is an opportunity to strengthen your technical skills while making a visible impact in a fast-moving production environment.

2nd Shift Schedule is 3:30pm - 12:00am.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and fluid system assembly for complex semiconductor equipment, ensuring adherence to engineering documentation and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret drawings, electrical schematics, and plumbing diagrams to execute precise builds.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the build process, escalating problems promptly to engineering for resolution.
  • Accurately maintain build logs, assembly manuals, and related production documentation.
  • Occasionally coordinate subassemblies or small build tasks, helping to manage flow and schedule adherence.
  • Maintain strict compliance with safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and workplace regulations.
  • Support tool completion and readiness for shipment in alignment with production schedules.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year manufacturing or assembly experience, ideally in a capital equipment, semiconductor, or automation environment.
  • Availability for 2nd shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM) and overtime as needed.
 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to assemble and install stainless steel, Swagelok, and flare fittings based on engineering schematics.
  • Proficiency with standard hand tools; basic metalworking skills (drilling, tapping).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and willingness to learn CAD/SolidWorks applications.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and experience in wiring terminations or crimps preferred.
  • Strong focus on quality in fast-paced, minimal-supervision work settings.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly.

 


Salary and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $35,696—$54,092, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
