OVERVIEW

Veeco’s Precision Surface Processing (PSP) division is scaling production of advanced wet etch and clean systems to meet growing demand for next-generation chip manufacturing. As a Manufacturing Technician on our 1st shift team, you’ll help build the complex tools enabling innovations in AI, advanced packaging, and high-speed data technologies. This role gives you the opportunity to apply and deepen your technical skills while working with experienced engineers and technicians on systems shipped to leading semiconductor fabs worldwide.

 

1st Shift Schedule is 7:30am - 4:00pm.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble production equipment, including mechanical modules, electrical wiring, and fluid systems, per engineering specifications.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and plumbing diagrams to ensure accurate builds.
  • Identify and resolve assembly challenges quickly, and escalate discrepancies or design issues to engineering.
  • Update assembly manuals and production logs with accurate documentation of build steps and changes.
  • Support tool builds from structure through completion, ensuring readiness for downstream operations.
  • Occasionally coordinate subassembly efforts, assisting in schedule management and material flow.
  • Follow all safety procedures diligently, including lockout/tagout, safety logs, and hazard containment.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or equipment build environments.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to assemble and plumb stainless steel tubing and Swagelok fittings from schematics.
  • Skilled in basic metalworking (drilling, tapping) and common shop tools.
  • Familiar with software including Excel, Word, and CAD; willingness to learn SolidWorks.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read wiring diagrams preferred.
  • Experience with cable terminations and automated machine control software a plus.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 25 lbs; overtime availability required.

 


Salary and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $36,881—$54,092
