Overview
At Veeco, our manufacturing team plays a critical role in delivering high-performance systems that power innovation in advanced industries. As a Manufacturing Technician, you will be at the forefront of this innovation, directly contributing to the performance and reliability of the systems that drive global technological advancement.

You’ll work on highly complex, precision-driven equipment, collaborating with world-class Engineering and R&D teams to solve challenging problems, accelerate product innovation, and help scale Veeco’s growth. Your contributions will directly influence product quality, customer success, and the speed at which breakthrough technologies reach the market.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies identified during assembly, integration, and advanced system testing
- Partner closely with Engineering and R&D to diagnose and solve complex, high-impact technical challenges that influence product performance and innovation
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Assembly/Test teams to drive rapid issue resolution and improve production efficiency
- Own and manage manufacturing test data associated with acceptance testing (ETL & ATL), ensuring integrity, accuracy, and actionable insights
- Compile and analyze statistical performance reports during Final Test to support data-driven decisions and continuous improvement
- Identify trends in system discrepancies and lead efforts to implement corrective actions, driving toward zero customer defects and best-in-class quality
- Drive innovation in test processes by identifying and implementing improvements to existing methodologies
- Support and collaborate with senior technicians in performing tool-related duties and maintenance activities.
- Maintain and uphold 5S standards across the work area and test floor to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient environment.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing scalability, operational excellence, and product innovation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 2 years (4 years preferred) of hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining complex systems in a high-tech or manufacturing environment.
- Associate degree in a technical field or relevant field service experience preferred
- Experience in semiconductor, capital equipment, or advanced manufacturing environments is strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments
- Working knowledge of hardware, software, and control systems (Analog / DeviceNet experience preferred)
- Experience with or exposure to high-vacuum semiconductor equipment and advanced manufacturing processes preferred
- Familiarity with high-voltage and high-power systems in precision equipment environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation
- SAP experience (from transactional use to reporting) is a plus
- Ability to perform statistical data analysis and translate findings into meaningful process or product improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause identification and sustainable solutions
- Proven ability to think critically and apply logical reasoning to solve complex technical challenges
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across cross-functional teams
- High level of ownership, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset aligned with innovation and growth
- Ability to lift to 40 lbs. and work in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment
- Flexibility to support overtime to meet critical production and customer commitments
Salary and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $45,460—$57,582, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
