OVERVIEW

Bring Next-Generation Semiconductor Equipment to Life

As an Engineering Program Manager, New Product Introduction (NPI), you will lead cross-functional programs that transform customer and market needs into technically sound, production-ready products. You will work at the intersection of Marketing, Technology, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Technical Support, and Field Service, providing the program leadership needed to move sophisticated wafer processing equipment from product definition and engineering development through validation, design release, and production readiness.

Operating with significant independence within the Engineering PMO, you will own the integrated program plan and drive alignment across multidisciplinary engineering and business teams. You will establish milestones, coordinate dependencies, monitor engineering maturity and BOM/ECO readiness, manage schedules, cost, risk, and product lifecycle deliverables, and drive timely resolution of issues that could impact program commitments.

Why this opportunity stands out: This role puts you at the center of complex engineering innovation, where your program leadership directly influences how new technologies progress from market and product requirements into manufacturable, supportable products. You will collaborate across the product lifecycle, gain broad exposure to technical and business functions, and have meaningful influence over program execution, priorities, trade-offs, and critical decisions.

This is more than a project tracking role. You will bring together people, technology, and execution to solve complex problems and turn engineering activity into measurable program outcomes. You will anticipate risks, facilitate critical decisions, remove barriers to execution, and establish the cross-functional operating rhythm needed to successfully transition products from development and validation into a repeatable, manufacturable, and supportable production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

NPI Program Leadership and Product Definition

  • Lead assigned NPI programs from Marketing identification of customer and market needs through product requirements, engineering development and validation, design release, production readiness, and formal project closeout.
  • Partner with Marketing, Technology, Systems, and Engineering teams to establish program scope, objectives, requirements, deliverables, milestones, assumptions, dependencies, and success criteria.
  • Own the integrated program plan and operating cadence, including task planning, milestone reviews, action tracking, status reporting, decision management, and cross-functional follow-through.

Engineering Execution and Design Maturity

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Software, Controls, and related engineering activities to maintain alignment between technical workstreams and overall program commitments.
  • Track engineering maturity and release readiness, including drawings, specifications, bills of material (BOMs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), validation activities, open technical issues, and Product Life Cycle (PLC) deliverables.
  • Drive structured issue resolution, trade-off discussions, and escalation of technical or execution risks that could affect requirements, qualification, schedule, cost, manufacturability, or product readiness.

Production Readiness and Cross-Functional Integration

  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to drive production-readiness activities such as material readiness, sourcing dependencies, manufacturing documentation, tooling or fixture needs, build planning, and transition of released product structures into ERP/MRP systems.
  • Coordinate with Technical Support and Field Service to address serviceability, installation, support, documentation, and product-introduction needs required for a successful release and field transition.
  • Facilitate readiness reviews and closure of critical gaps to confirm cross-functional deliverables are sufficiently mature to support pilot builds, release, ramp, and downstream product support.

Program Controls, Risk, Cost, and Communication

  • Manage program schedules, critical-path activities, risks, issues, dependencies, resource constraints, and recovery actions; proactively communicate impacts and escalate decisions when needed.
  • Monitor product cost targets, costed BOM maturity, engineering project budgets, and key cost drivers; coordinate corrective actions with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations when performance is off plan.
  • Provide concise, data-driven program updates to Engineering PMO and cross-functional leadership, clearly communicating status, accomplishments, risks, trade-offs, decisions required, and next steps.

Continuous Improvement and PMO Support

  • Lead or support Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) and engineering initiatives that improve product performance, reliability, cost, manufacturability, serviceability, or execution effectiveness.
  • Contribute to consistent Engineering PMO practices, including planning standards, program reviews, risk management, lessons learned, and reusable NPI processes and tools.
  • Collaborate with and support other Program Managers while independently leading assigned programs, workstreams, or complex engineering projects appropriate to a Level III role.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex engineering, product development, or NPI programs requiring coordination across multiple technical disciplines and business functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent formal project management training.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor capital equipment, vacuum systems, wafer processing equipment, or similarly complex automated electro-mechanical products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional NPI execution from product requirements and engineering validation through design release and production readiness.
  • Working knowledge of complex electro-mechanical systems incorporating robotics, vacuum pumps, motors, heaters, power supplies, instrumentation, PLC/control systems, and PC-based controls.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings, system architecture, BOM structures, ECO/change-control processes, technical dependencies, verification and validation status, and product-readiness criteria.
  • Strong program-management capability across scope, schedule, milestones, resources, cost, risk, issue resolution, change management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to analyze ambiguous, interdisciplinary problems, organize complex information, identify critical paths and trade-offs, and drive teams toward timely decisions and closure.
  • Experience coordinating product cost, costed BOM, lifecycle deliverables, and cross-functional readiness activities in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and project planning/scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project; SAP or comparable ERP/MRP experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks and the ability to work effectively with engineering design data is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive-facing communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority across technical and business functions.
  • Adaptable, organized, and results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining ownership, urgency, and attention to detail.
