Overview
Veeco is seeking a passionate, hands-on Technical Instructor who is energized by building world-class manufacturing training programs and empowering technical teams to do their best work safely, accurately, and confidently. This role is critical to strengthening our learning ecosystem across manufacturing, systems, and product training, particularly within advanced semiconductor equipment and processes.
The ideal candidate is both a technical expert and a learning professional. Someone who loves translating complex systems into clear, engaging training, enjoys partnering with engineers and SMEs, and thrives in environments where training maturity is evolving. You will play a key role in closing training gaps, modernizing curriculum, and supporting career development for manufacturing employees.
Responsibilities
Develop technical training materials for internal audiences; plan and schedule training sessions; deliver in‑person and remote instruction; and reinforce correct execution of released manufacturing and system procedures.
- Deliver in‑person technical training, including verbal and written knowledge checks to verify comprehension and procedural adherence
- Deliver remote training using technical documentation, engineering drawings, models, simulators, and system walkthroughs
- Train employees to correctly execute released manufacturing, process, and system procedures
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to define learning objectives and convert complex technical content into effective training
- Design and develop training materials and structured training packages aligned with adult learning principles
- Create system-level training covering system architecture, functional operation, and hardware/software interfaces
- Support manufacturing training needs including new hire onboarding, NPI, sub‑assembly training, and career development
- Assist Technical Writers in verifying procedure accuracy, safety, and compliance requirements
- Support learning management, documentation, and training tracking systems
- Identify legacy or incomplete training content requiring enhancement, modernization, or redevelopment
Qualifications
8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree.
Technical background in the semiconductor or technical manufacturing field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven ability to design, write, and develop technical curriculum and instructional materials
- Demonstrated success delivering effective training to manufacturing and engineering audiences
- Strong ability to gather, organize, and present complex technical information clearly
- Solid understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, equipment, systems, and tools
- Knowledge of training development, learning evaluation, and performance reinforcement methods
- Familiarity with manufacturing training drivers including safety, quality, product training, and compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with LMS platforms preferred
Salary and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $113,000 - 144,000, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
