Why This Position Matters:

You’ll lead internal comms and external marketing communications activities, including brand management, our external website, and our SharePoint intranet. You’ll work with leaders and teams to amplify our brand as a technology leader, drive growth, curate and share our unique stories, and help us effectively compete in various markets. You’ll flex your skills with our sales and product teams to create excitement for Veeco by organizing and coordinating tradeshows and other events. What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, implement, and nurture communications programs that support Veeco’s leadership teams and align with our vision, mission, and core values.
  • Create and review materials for internal use, such as org announcements, newsletters, memos, videos, presentations, and staff and all-hands meetings. Your work will shepherd accuracy, clarity, consistency, and compliance with Veeco’s brand guidelines and help ensure the message is received as intended.
  • Organize and cultivate our intranet (SharePoint) and external website, curating relevant, accurate, timely, and engaging content that’s intuitively easy to navigate. Regularly review and update content.
  • “Wow” prospective and current customers by collaborating with our product marketing and sales teams to develop technical marketing (white papers) and sales collateral and support tradeshows, including booth development, logistics, registration, etc. Help to make product launches a resounding success.
  • Partner with other teams and business locations on the best methods and channels to deliver integrated communications campaigns to various internal and external audiences.
  • Carefully manage the marketing communications budget.
  • Work with the global facilities team to ensure that Veeco locations have up-to-date, on-brand, current signage, placards, graphics, etc.
  • Act as an internal expert and a program/project specialist, representing Veeco to internal and external groups, agencies, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with our talent acquisition teams to deliver compelling employer band collateral.
  • Continually look for improvement opportunities and propose solutions using your knowledge, skills, and judgment.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communications programs and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in communications and apply them to your work (be a constant learner).

 

What You’ll Need:

You’ll need creativity, exceptional writing skills, scrappiness, persistence, resourcefulness, initiative, curiosity, and courage. You’ll have accumulated the skills you need with a Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of combined experience in marketing, communications, marketing communications, brand management, and/or employer branding. Experience in the semiconductor or electronics industry is strongly preferred. If you don’t have a college degree, we’ll also consider your overall experience. Requires up to 25% domestic U.S. travel.

 

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Can work autonomously across a global organization, with excellent “remote engagement” skills
  • Skilled in website and intranet development
  • Ability to write well, communicate clearly, and have an “editor’s eye” for others’ content; hold a deeply rooted belief that attention to detail matters
  • An eye for design is required. Familiarity with design platforms like Canva, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc., and video production tools like Canva, Final Cut X, and Adobe Premier
  • Expert in Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, web development tools and CMS systems, video/audio production and editing, and other communication tools and platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
  • Lifelong learner – if you don’t know how to do something, you’ll take the initiative to learn how to do it
  • Knowledge of media relations and press releases
  • Data-driven, using metrics to drive strategy and measure effectiveness
  • Works well with everyone, but can also say “no” when necessary

The expected salary range for this position is $124,507 -- $157,708, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
