Overview

Veeco is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to support the development and execution of our enterprise data governance program. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are passionate about data quality, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, secure, and aligned with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with business units to gather and document data governance requirements and workflows.
  • Support data quality initiatives by performing data profiling, identifying inconsistencies, and contributing to cleansing efforts.
  • Maintain data governance documentation including data dictionaries, glossaries, and training materials.
  • Participate in data governance working groups and meetings to support issue resolution and decision-making.
  • Monitor compliance with data governance frameworks and escalate issues as needed.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in data governance and data management.

Qualifications

 

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Data Science, or a related field is required. Candidates must demonstrate at least one year of academic or professional experience involving data analysis, business process documentation, or data quality initiatives. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required, including the ability to create pivot tables, charts, and structured reports. Candidates must have experience preparing written documentation and presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Familiarity with data governance principles or frameworks, such as DAMA-DMBOK, and exposure to data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) are desirable. Experience with SQL or data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM).
  • Exposure to data analysis tools or languages such as SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security concepts (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and business challenges.


Salary and Benefits

 
The expected salary range for this position is $67,875.00—$85,975.00, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
