Overview:

Veeco Instruments is seeking a Product Marketing Manager for their Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) product line to promote the development and sale of complex semiconductor processing equipment used in the research, development, and manufacture of high-tech components. The successful candidate will work with a matrix team of internal and external groups to understand customer requirements and develop product configurations that meet their needs. Major responsibilities include identifying market trends, developing product specifications, and communicating to other functional areas in the business, working with customers to develop solutions for their challenges, responding to specifications and RFQs, preparing quotations, and managing customer expectations and satisfaction after system sale.

 

This role is a highly integrated, visible, cross-functional “driver” that has a significant, measurable impact on the success of the MBE product line. The successful candidate should possess strong analytical and creative thinking skills to interpret customer requirements, configure products, and articulate product differentiation and value.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Works with a matrix team to understand customer requirements in order to best design and configure products to meet customer needs.
  • Leads product line-related sales activities including configuration development, custom product/feature requests, product quotes, cost, and pricing recommendations.
  • Creates product quotes, marketing collateral, and tender responses that thoroughly articulate product differentiation and value.
  • Supports customer engagements including direct communication, both in-person (as able) and virtual, to drive business.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with customers, sales, and service to promote the MBE product line.
  • Crafts regional strategies to promote the product line and grow sales.
  • Achieves booking and margin targets for assigned regions.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Material Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related) and a minimum of 5 years of experience; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD is required. Must be able to interpret engineering drawings, system block diagrams, electrical schematics, engineering specifications, and manufacturing requirements.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work with a cross-functional team in a matrix organization; proven ability to direct and motivate individuals with no direct reporting structure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and decision-making capability.
  • Understanding of key engineering and technology areas, including: mechanical, electrical, systems, and software; Vacuum experience preferred.
  • Critical and creative thinking to interpret customer requirements, configure products, and articulate product differentiation and value.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite.
  • Semiconductor capital equipment, metrology, instrumentation, or related electromechanical systems experience a plus, especially thin-film deposition (ALD, MBE, MOCVD). 
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems a plus, SAP preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% as required.

The expected salary range for this position is $88,000 - 112,000 + bonus + benefits. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
