Overview

Veeco’s wet process systems enable cutting-edge semiconductor technologies—from advanced packaging to high-performance computing. As a Product Application Engineer based in Taiwan, you’ll partner with top customers to develop new applications on Veeco’s WaferStorm and WaferEtch platforms, drive experimental studies, and translate data into actionable results. This role offers a unique blend of technical depth and customer interaction, working across R&D, sales, and service teams to bring critical process innovations to market. Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate new wet process applications for customer and Veeco initiatives; execute experiments, analyze results, and present findings.
  • Maintain and advance Best Known Methods (BKMs) for process control and continuous improvement; drive adoption and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, service, and sales—to support revenue goals and enhance system performance.
  • Support customer demos and R&D projects in Taiwan and Veeco’s U.S. Applications Lab, including DOE preparation, tool setup, and reporting.
  • Deliver technical presentations and training to customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with cleanroom protocols, chemical handling safety, and operational standards during hands-on lab work.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related experience; or Master’s degree and 3 years; or PhD with equivalent exposure.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 50% (including visits to Veeco U.S. headquarters and labs).

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in semiconductor or cleanroom fabs preferred.
  • Familiarity with metrology tools (e.g., SEM, AFM, ellipsometer, profilometer, particle counters, four-point probe).
  • Basic troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems; comfort handling acids, bases, and solvents with PPE.
  • Proficient in MS Office; ability to learn equipment-specific control and data collection software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer management skills; effective communicator in English (written and verbal).
  • Physical capability for lifting up to 50 lbs and wearing cleanroom attire.
  • Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan (ideal) but other locations in Taiwan may be considered; travel required to support customers within all of Taiwan and support other Asia customers in South Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia.
