Overview

If you are an Engineering Program Manager who enjoys owning complex programs end-to-end, influencing technical direction without being a hands-on designer, and partnering deeply with engineering teams to bring sophisticated products to life, this role offers the kind of scope and ownership senior PMs look for but rarely find.

We are seeking an Engineering Program Manager – New Product Introduction (NPI) to join our team at our Headquarters in Plainview, NY. In this role, you will lead NPI programs for advanced semiconductor capital equipment, owning execution from concept design through process validation, ensuring readiness for manufacturing scale and the clean transition of products to sustaining teams. Your work will directly shape how new platforms and technologies scale into manufacturing and reach customers worldwide.

This is a program management–driven role requiring strong engineering knowledge and technical credibility, but it does not include hands-on design ownership. The position partners closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to manage schedules, risks, and execution across highly cross-functional programs.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end execution of NPI programs from concept design through process validation
  • Translate complex engineering work into executable plans, schedules, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Manage scope, cost targets, resources, and cross-functional dependencies
  • Lead program reviews, milestone readiness assessments, and executive-level reporting
  • Serve as a program and business partner to Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Software, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
  • Apply engineering judgment to identify risks, ask informed questions, and drive technical trade-offs.
  • Coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and manage downstream program impact
  • Identify system-level integration and readiness risks without owning design work
  • Manage deliverables across the Product Life Cycle from concept through validation exit
  • Own program-level planning for process validation and manufacturing readiness
  • Partner on Costed BOM accuracy and design-to-cost objectives
  • Lead disciplined handoff of products to sustaining / CPI teams
  • Serve as primary program interface across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Field teams.
  • Align stakeholders on priorities, commitments, trade-offs, and execution plans.
  • Translate technical discussions into program implications and business decisions.
  • Support customer-site evaluation tools as part of NPI execution
  • Coordinate material readiness and depot planning with Supply Chain and Field partners
  • Integrate material availability into program schedules to prevent late-stage disruption

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical) preferred, degrees in Manufacturing, Operations, or Business considered with strong technical program experience
  • Minimum 5 years managing complex, cross-functional engineering or NPI programs

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience partnering with engineering teams in a business or program leadership role
  • Capital equipment, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing experience preferred
  • PMP certification or formal project/program management training is a plus
  • Strong engineering acumen with the ability to understand complex electromechanical systems without designing them
  • Working knowledge of vacuum systems, robotics, motion systems, heaters, power supplies, instrumentation, and PLC-based controls
  • Proven program planning, execution, and risk management capability
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent programs in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication skills with technical teams and executive stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks for design comprehension
