Overview:
Veeco is seeking an ambitious Field Service Engineer eager to learn Veeco’s technology and drive customer satisfaction through support. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of Veeco's equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Represent Company in dealings with a single customer to achieve high customer satisfaction with equipment and prepare reports to the customer in operational status project meetings and weekly activities.
- Perform activities during installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment, following up all customer’s and Veeco’s protocols related to safety and security
- Isolate and resolve equipment and systems malfunctions and take corrective action
- Assist with the implementation of new processes, methods, and designs
- Develop relationships with the customer to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention
- Serve as contact for onsite activities, communications, and provide support in all matters related to the equipment, technical, and field aspects for the targeted site
- Report all tool actions/events and weekly activities in field service reports
- Adhere to safety and confidentiality policies
- Single point of contact for onsite activities, communications, support in all matters related to the equipment, technical, and field aspects for the important Veeco customer site.
- The training period is expected to last approximately six months and will require frequent travel approximately 70% to 80% of the time. This includes travel to various training locations, with periodic down weeks allocated for self-directed study.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical area and a minimum of 5 years of experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Military training and experience are welcome.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills with the ability to speak with clarity and interface effectively with customer, management, and peers
- Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics, and computer controls
- System integration, test, and debug skills
- Experience with Semiconductor industry safety requirements and clean room environment
- Displays broad-based customer focus and commitment to resolve problems and make decisions based on the priority of the problem in relation to business needs
- Ability to build excellent customer relationships
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure to meet support deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Salary and Benefits
The expected hourly pay range for this position is $36.84 — $46.66 per hour, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
