Overview
Veeco is seeking an ambitious Field Service Engineer eager to learn Veeco’s Laser based Annealing technology and drive customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a strategic customer with the objective of adopting a new technology through installation and start up sustaining and troubleshooting of Semiconductor equipment.
**Position involves domestic and international travel (as needed) for training and support of other accounts. Position based in Hillsboro Oregon near our customer site in.
Responsibilities

Adhere to safety and confidentiality policies

Perform activities during installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment, following up on all customer’s and Veeco’s protocols related to safety and security

Isolate and resolve equipment and systems malfunctions and take corrective action
-
Assist with the implementation of new processes, methods, and designs
-
Develop relationships with the customer to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention

Ability to drive onsite activities, communications, and provide support in all matters related to the equipment, technical, and field aspects for the targeted site

Escalate and communicate all tool actions/events and daily activities in field service reports
Qualifications
Bachler degree in Engineering or related technical preferably Electrical and Optical area and at least 5 years of experience in a technical service, field service, or customer support position is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience with Semiconductor industry safety requirements and clean room environment

Knowledge of annealing laser annealing, or similar Optical/Laser semiconductor process equipment preferred

Must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills with the ability to speak with clarity and interface effectively with customer, management, and peers

Knowledge of machine vision systems, electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics, and computer programming.

System integration, test, and debug skills

Displays broad-based customer focus and commitment to resolve problems and make decisions based on the priority of the problem in relation to business needs

Ability to build excellent customer relationships

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work under pressure to meet support deadlines in a multi-tasking environment

Must be flexible for emergency call-in work

Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Ability to travel 25%, occasionally on short notice; requires domestic/international travel for training and support of customer projects across multiple locations.
Salary and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $70,498 - $93,998, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
