Overview:

This position supports the Customer Operations function across Europe. The position requires flexibility and a strong set of functional experience including a working knowledge of SAP’s Sales & Distribution module, order management and prioritization functioning, and sales and customer support. The Customer Operations Representative will report to the Asia-based Manager of Customer Operations. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Order Processing Support: Processes orders for Veeco Systems or Services from sales staff or direct customer contact. Maintains customer files with sales contracts and other information.  Gives price quotations, completes order sheets and checks the price and quantity of each item listed.  Distributes order sheets to respective departments.  May coordinate with departments regarding order status, shipping dates, prices, product availability and back orders.
    • Communicates regularly with sales, field service and operations on sales order processing and fulfillment strategies and issues
    • Ensures compliance with company revenue recognition policies for booking and shipment of orders
    • Provides invoicing support as required for System and Services Orders
  • Sales Operations Support: Supports the local European Sales Organization with various critical sales initiatives including:
    • Customer and Partner communications as needed
      • Interacts with customers, company sales and/or service representatives to handle a variety of pre-sales or post-sales service functions
  • Generalized Sales Operations/Support needs
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by manager
     

Qualifications:

University degree or equivalent training and experience. Demonstrated experience with SAP Interface (Sales & Distribution Module) preferred, but not required. Experience with other enterprise systems also helpful.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively support local customer needs
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) - "systems-savvy"
  • Ability to learn and apply learning quickly
