Overview:
As one of the world’s leading suppliers of low-cost, high-productivity capital manufacturing equipment, Veeco brings vital imaging and processing capabilities to the semiconductor market. The Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical expertise for production tools and new product introductions, both internally and at contract manufacturers, to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets are met.
**This position will be on day shift (7am to 4pm)**
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and resolve technical and operational problems on the manufacturing floor.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, optical, and control-related issues.
- Determine root cause and recommend preventive measures.
- Provide written and verbal updates to manufacturing team.
- Educate and train manufacturing team.
- Review and evaluate production documentation for proper methods and process controls.
- Suggest and implement changes in equipment, tooling, manufacturing environment, and facilities for increased operational efficiency.
- Recommend and implement measures to improve product performance and quality.
- Execute ECM’s (Engineering Change Masters) accurately, timely, and cost effectively in SAP.
- Review and respond to technical queries from world-class suppliers.
- Perform disposition and rework notifications for NCM (Non-Conforming Material).
- Help transition new products into production and process development (NPI).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering desired)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in equipment/product manufacturing or equivalent
- Must be comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with systems designs, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software/controls compatibility is preferred.
- Good understanding of system controls architecture is preferred.
- Semiconductor equipment, inspection, and clean room experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Practical mindset with strong ability to read and interpret highly technical documents (electrical/pneumatic schematics, mechanical/assembly drawings, bills of material, operating/maintenance manuals, and job safety instructions).
- Solid modeling experience (SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD highly preferred).
- Experience with SPC and process control methodologies.
- Experience with MRP tools required (SAP highly preferred).
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
The expected salary range for this position is $103,078.00-$130,565.20, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
